ApaTech is a world leader in orthobiologics, through its development, production and sales of world-leading synthetic bone graft technology.

ApaTech specializes in producing synthetic bone repair material. It has operations in London, England, Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA and Berlin, Germany, and is a world leader in bone graft technologies, selling its products in over 30 countries around the world.

The Company has developed a novel silicate substituted calcium phosphate bone graft material, Actifuse, which underpins the Company’s leadership in applying the science of silicon to bone graft technologies. Actifuse is the first of a new class of synthetic bone graft materials that combine osteoconductive, osteostimulatory and bioactive qualities resulting in accelerated bone growth.

ApaTech is backed by international investors, Encore Ventures and Healthcor and following its formation in 2001, the Company has raised more than $60m from investors.

Our story
ApaTech was spun out of Queen Mary University London in 2001 with the rights to bone materials research and IP from London and Cambridge Universities. The company retains pipeline agreements with founding inventors, including Professor William Bonfield, CBE and Queen Mary University of London. CE Mark and 510(k) clearances have been made for its first bone graft substitute ApaPore and for Actifuse, a new class of bone graft material that combines osteoconductive, osteostimulatory and bioactive activities, in a wide range of orthopedic and spinal applications.
