Jun 16, 2008 ApaTechTM announces multiple senior management appointments

Following the successful completion of a US$45m fund raising ApaTech, a world leader in applying the science of silicon to bone graft technology, is delighted to announce several senior management appointments and organizational changes.

In anticipation of a major recruitment campaign across multiple functions and geographies, Lynn Lester joins ApaTech as VP Human Resources reporting to CEO Simon Cartmell. Lynn joins from Cambridge Antibody Technology plc where she was SVP Human Resources and Business Operations responsible for the growth of this biologics division of AstraZeneca plc in the UK and USA.

Dr Tom Buckland is promoted to the position of VP Research and Development, an extension of his current research responsibilities and will continue to report to CEO Simon Cartmell.

Dr Jim Cassidy relinquishes his clinical development responsibilities to focus on the regulatory aspects of new product development as VP Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, a role created in recognition of the importance of regulatory interaction for new products. A search is underway for a VP Clinical Development reporting to the CEO Simon Cartmell.

Rick Thomas joins as Area Director N Europe, responsible for sales activities in UK, Eire, Benelux and Scandinavia. Rick joins from Medtronic Inc where he was UK Sales Manager for Kyphon.  In a parallel move Dr Joerg Maassen is promoted to Area Director DASA responsible for the sales activities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe.  Rick and Joerg will report to the yet to be appointed VP OUS.

Mitch White and Mark Bossard are appointed VP Sales for the Mid America and Central regions of the US respectively. Mitch joins from VertiFlex Inc and Mark from Isotis Inc. Both Mitch and Mark will report to Steve Czick, President ApaTech Inc.
