Nigel is a partner in 3i's healthcare team and is based in London. Having joined 3i's venture team in 1997, Nigel has been responsible for leading many 3i investments. Examples of these include Domantis, Arakis and ApaTech. He currently sits on the boards of both ApaTech and Small Bone Innovations Inc. Prior to joining 3i Nigel studied Chemistry, graduating from the University of Oxford, before moving on to complete a PhD at the University of Durham in computational chemistry and rational drug design. Nigel joined the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) in 1994 and spent two years working on new product design and project consultancy for major pharmaceutical company clients. He then completed an MBA at Warwick Business School, before being recruited into 3i.
