Dr. Tushar Patel received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at George Washington University Medical Center. He followed this with fellowship training in Spinal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as Chief of the Section of Spine Surgery, Director of the Center for Spine and Scoliosis, and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Yale University. He joined Commonwealth Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation in 2000.

Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and member of the North American Spine Society.

Dr. Patel has given numerous presentations both nationally and internationally on topics related to the spine, as well as published peer reviewed journal articles, and participated in clinical research pertaining to the spine. His practice interests include all aspects of spine care including minimally invasive spine surgery, scoliosis, trauma, neck and back surgery.
